JEANNETTE CITY SCHOOL BOARD APPOINTS NEW MEMBER

Jeannette City School Board has appointed a new member after two other attempts were unsuccessful.  The Trib reports that earlier this week, the board voted 6-2 to appoint Susan McFarland to take the seat vacated by the death of Janice Smarto.  That appointment will last until the board’s reorganization meeting in December.  Voters in November will vote to elect someone to fill the seat for the remaining two years.
