LOWER BURRELL BUILDING TO BE TORN DOWN

The Lower Burrell building that once housed the Newport Business Institute is set to be torn down.  City officials have approved plans to demolish the structure on Greensburg Road.  The Westmoreland County Redevelopment Authority and Land Bank purchased the property earlier this year for less than two-thousand dollars.  The building has been empty since 2013.  A timeframe for the demolition is not yet clear.
