Westmoreland County officials are reminding residents of a new program that will help first responders quickly find at-risk individuals who go missing. Local leaders announced Project Lifesaver back in August. Folks who suffer from dementia, autism, and other cognitive disorders can be given a wristband that sends out a unique radio signal. Police and other officials have receivers that can pick up those signals within a radius of over one mile. Those who have a loved one they would like to enroll in the free program can find an application on the county’s website.
