Leaders with the Marguerite and Dryridge fire departments, in Unity Township, are looking to merge. Officials say the plan is meant to help solve staffing issues and to cut down on costs. The departments are likely to consolidate into the Dryridge station, sell off some equipment, and put the Marguerite station on the market, according to Marguerite’s acting fire chief, Wayne Forsyth. Officers with each department are hoping to get approval on the plan from members and get the merger started by the end of the year.
