This year’s Mt. Pleasant Halloween Parade went off without any controversy. The Trib reports that organizers stepped up efforts to avoid a repeat of what happened last year when some participants came dressed up as then-candidate Donald Trump pulling a person dressed as Kamala Harris behind them on a golf cart. That sparked outrage with the Mayor calling that parade entry disturbing and upsetting and the NAACP denouncing it as a symbol of racism and hatred. This year, though, only goblins, ghouls and ghosts came through along with a few dance teams and groups raising awareness for breast cancer and suicide prevention.
