The attorney for a Hempfield woman accused of killing her husband will present a self-defense case to the jury during her trial. The Trib reports that charges of homicide were held for court against 51-year-old Leann Steel. She reportedly shot her husband on October 18th at their home on Merlin Lane. During the preliminary hearing yesterday, state police said that she admitted to the shooting. Her attorney, Tim Andrews, claimed that he had come into the bedroom with a gun and threatened her, and she was just defending herself. Steel remains in Westmoreland County Prison without bail.
