The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office has filed a civil lawsuit looking to bar a Hempfield home improvement contractor from doing business in the state. The Trib reports that the three-count lawsuit was filed against A&S Contracting and Roofing, LLC and its owner, Stephen Spallone. It alleges that the company has abandoned projects after obtaining more than $56,000 in deposits from customers and agreed to non-compliant contracts with its clients. Six complaints were filed with the state’s Bureau of Consumer Protection alleging they paid A&S Contracting & Roofing for home improvement projects such as roofing and gutter replacement, construction of decks and patios, and siding replacement but in those cases, the lawsuit says they only did limited work or no work at all. Spallone is denying everything and says he will conduct his own investigation.
