Some registered voters in Fayette County ran into problems yesterday as they were being turned away from the polls for several hours. There was a problem discovered by the commissioner himself when he went to vote. He was checking in on the electronic poll pad when it stated that he had already turned in his mail in ballot. The problem was that Harrisburg uploaded last year’s voter data into the electronic poll book across the entire county. The system rejected voters and would not let them cast their ballots. They decided to use the backup paper book to check people in for the election. The problem lasted from 7 am to 10:00 am.
