A North Versailles woman was convicted on Friday of attempted murder in the shooting of her former roommate in Penn Township. The Trib reports that 36-year-old Leah Gillis was found guilty on attempted murder, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment for an incident on August 2nd of 2022 at the home that she shared with Erik Allison. Prosecutors said Gillis became enraged and jealous after Allison disclosed a new romantic relationship. She then fired one round from a century-old shotgun that struck him in the throat. Gillis is now in Westmoreland County Jail until her sentencing hearing in about three months. She faces up to 20 years in prison.
