STATE OFFICIALS TO ISSUE AIR QUALITY PERMIT FOR SOUTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP NATURAL-GAS FIRED POWER PLANT

State officials say they will issue an air quality permit for a natural-gas fired power plant in South Huntingdon Township.  The Trib reports that The Department of Environmental Protection has stated it will issue a Title V air quality operating permit to Tenaska Inc., which operates the 925-megawatt power plant near Smithton.  Opponents to the plant have asked the DEP to hold a public hearing on the issue, but it is not known if they will.
