Two Westmoreland County men are in line for a prestigious award for saving an injured co-worker in 2024. WPXI-TV reports that Michael Johnson and Frederick Palmer, Jr. will receive the Carnegie Medal for their actions at a municipal water authority site where Pete Dunegan was severely injured when a pressurized water line accident nearly severed his leg. The two were able to secure Dunegan with a lifting strap and coordinate with a crane operator to get him to safety. The two then performed some first aid before medics arrived.
