Officials in North Huntingdon unanimously approved an $15.8 Million budget that includes a 30% tax increase. The 3.5-mill tax hike is split into two parts: 1.5 mills for the general fund and 2 mills for the capital reserve fund for roads and stormwater management projects. In addition, supervisors voted unanimously to appoint Lt. Jay McCurdy as acting police chief. McCurdy takes the place of Chief Robert Rizzo, who will retire at the end of the month.
