Three crashes were reported on Route 119 near the Westmoreland-Fayette border during the winter storms that went through the area yesterday morning. The Trib reports that the wrecks were reported between 10 and 11 AM, starting with a car hitting a guardrail while entering 119 from 819 in East Huntingdon. A second one that happened further south closer to the border involved three cars and prompted the closure of 119’s southbound lanes One person was sent to the hospital from that incident. The Third was reported at the intersection of McClure Road in Upper Tyrone Township as a pickup truck hit a utility pole. Officials said that white-out conditions were the cause of the crashes.
