A Hempfield man now faces criminal homicide charges for a shooting on New Year’s Eve. The Trib reports that 30-year-old Robert Naugle Jr. reportedly shot and killed James Thomas as he walked in on him and his wife at the home on Hugh Street in Hempfield Township. Naugle reportedly called police and confessed to the killing. Bail was denied due to the criminal homicide charges and he is now in Westmoreland County Prison awaiting a preliminary hearing on January 14th.
