AUTHORITIES RELEASE MORE DETAILS ON FATAL NEW YEAR’S EVE SHOOTING IN HEMPFIELD

Authorities released more details on the fatal shooting that happened New Year’s Eve in Hempfield.  The Trib reports that Robert Naugle Jr. is charged with shooting and killing James Thomas.  Authorities believe that Naugle had filed for divorce in November and moved out two days before the shooting, and his ex-wife had cancelled plans for a New Year’s celebration.  When he went there, he saw an unfamiliar vehicle, then went inside with a pistol in hand and shot at Thomas, who was having dinner with the ex-wife.  A preliminary hearing is set for January 14th.
