FORMER LATROBE MAN TO SERVE UP TO 20 YEARS IN PRISON

A former Latrobe man was ordered to serve up to 20 years in prison for the 2024 rape of a child.  The Trib reports that 40-year-old Randy Shipley pleaded guilty in October to felony counts of rape, sexual assault and other crimes.  Police said that he plied the victim, a then-13-year-old girl, with alcohol before the assault.  The sentence will run consecutive to any sentence for prior crimes.
