POLICE OFFICERS AND SUSPECTS RESCUED RESCUED FROM MONESSEN HILLSIDE

Three police officers and two suspects were rescued from a hillside in Monessen after a high-speed chase on Sunday evening.  KDKA-TV says the chase started around 4:00 PM outside of Charleori as officers pursued a stolen vehicle.  It turned into a foot pursuit that ended on a hillside in the area of Pine Street above Route 906.  Rope rescue teams from Westmoreland and Washington Counties were called in to help.  One of the suspects and an officer were taken to the hospital for treatment.
