The Lower Burrell Zoning Board will consider a proposal to have a credit union move into a former PNC Bank location. The Trib reports that Western PA Federal Credit Union is seeking a zoning variance as it plans to move into the location in the Hillcrest Shopping Center Complex. Lower Burrell Zoning Officer Mark Marmo said the credit union wants to own the bank property and its nearby parking. Current commercial zoning there requires properties to be larger than 4 acres, so the credit union is seeking to have that requirement waived to own the building. The request will be heard on February 16th at the Zoning Hearing Board meeting.
