An employee with Monessen City Schools is accused of taking a gun to the district’s elementary school yesterday. The city’s police chief has confirmed that the person who had the gun is a teacher, saying the firearm was found inside the school, but it was not displayed or used to menace. The teacher does have a license to carry the weapon, according to authorities. No charges have been filed so far as local police and the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office investigate.
