FIREARM AND DRUG RAIDS

Law enforcement in Westmoreland and three other counties have seized 48 firearms in raids since the start of the year.  The Trib reports that altered shotguns, rifles and handguns frequently used by traffickers were on display at a news conference at the Bureau of Narcotics Investigation in North Huntingdon.  Also seized in those raids were 63,000 doses of powdered fentanyl, 12 pounds of cocaine, a pound of crack cocaine, and over $4000 in suspected drug money.  FBI representatives said that adults are increasingly recruiting juveniles to steal and carry firearms.
