PRE-TRIAL HEARING FOR ROSTRAVER MAN CHARGED WITH KILLING LIVE-IN GIRLFRIEND

A pre-trial hearing was held yesterday for a man charged with killing his live-in girlfriend last year in Rostraver.  The Trib reports that Robert Chaplin is accused of shooting and killing Estela Vazquez in February of 2025.  At the hearing, prosecutors said that a jury should be able to hear evidence that Chaplain has a history of violence against women.  Police contend Vazquez was shot in the chest while in the basement of the couple’s home they shared with her three children and died from her injuries. Chaplin appeared intoxicated and agitated when he was found by police outside the home, according to court records.
