A West Newton man pleaded guilty in Federal Court yesterday to charges of aggravated identity theft and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. The Trib reports that 30-year-old Michael Yackovich reportedly was part of a group of seven people who hacked into Snapchat accounts, accessing intimate videos and images stored in them and trading them online. He is the first to enter a plea in this case. The plea agreement calls for him to serve four years in federal prison and three years of probation.
