A handful of communities are set to exit the Alle-Kiski Intergovernmental Council. Local leaders in Arnold voted to leave the voluntary regional planning group this week. Officials in Vandergrift and East Vandergrift have said they will withdraw participation as well, according to Westmoreland County planners. The Alle-Kiski Intergovernmental Council was launched several years ago for the purposes in collaborating on planning and code issues. Remaining members include New Kensington, Upper Burrell, Lower Burrell, Allegheny Township, and West Leechburg.
