ACME COUPLE FACES THIRD DEGREE MURDER CHARGES

Two people from Acme are facing third-degree murder charges connected with the overdose death of a 15-month-old child.  The Trib reports that 34-year-old Michael Blasser and 31-year-old Ashley Makarsky were arraigned yesterday in connection with the death of the child in February of 2025.  Police found the child in a home that had no electricity, water or heat.  The child was pronounced dead at a local hospital.  The two were reportedly under the influence of drugs at the time.  Blasser and Makarsky are in Westmoreland County Jail after failing to post $1 million bail.  A preliminary hearing is set for March 25th.
