GREENSBURG CENTRAL CATHOLIC GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM WINS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Greensburg Central Catholic’s Girls Basketball team won the state championship last night beating District 2 runner-up Holy Redeemer 52-41 in Hershey last night.  Seniors Erica Gribble and Jayla Peterson combined for 35 points, with Gribble picking up 18 points.  Greensburg Central Catholic is the first PIAA basketball champion from Westmoreland County since Jeannette’s boys won in 2008, and marks the program’s first state title in 29 years.
