Hempfield School Board last night approved a tentative spending plan for the 2023-24 school year that contains a 2.3 mil real estate tax increase.
The Trib reports that the tax increase will be used to help cover expenses associated with rising health insurance costs, updated curriculum, and hiring school police officers. The budget projects a net deficit of nearly $1.4 million, with expenditures of about $106.9 million and revenues of about $105.6 million.
The budget will be up for final approval on June 26th.
