Gas prices in the area are continuing a downward trend.
Gasbuddy.com reports that the average cost of a gallon of gas in Westmoreland County is down to $2.67 a gallon, which ties the county with Indiana and Cambria. Among the neighboring counties, Fayette has the cheapest gas price average at $2.62 a gallon with the highest average in the neighboring areas being both Allegheny and Armstrong counties at $2.69 a gallon.
The statewide average is $2.62 a gallon, down four cents from last week.
