Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Deputies have charged a man with resisting arrest, defiant trespass and disorderly conduct for an incident at the county courthouse on June 20th.
The Trib reports that 44-year-old William Friedline of Derry Township was at the courthouse that day for a meeting in a conference room. Friedline refused to leave when the proceedings were over and demanded paperwork. He allegedly then stood up, stepped over to the hearing officer’s side of the desk and stretched his arms towards her. The deputy grabbed him and called for help, but reported Friedline was able to get out of his grip and head toward where the hearing officer was standing. He eventually stopped resisting when responding deputies threatened to use a Taser.
A preliminary hearing is set for August 24th.
