A Greensburg City Councilman has proposed giving people a few extra minutes at parking meters in the downtown area.
The Trib reports that Councilman Randy Finfrock has proposed buying software to allow the city to add a grace period for selected parking meters. He suggested that five minutes be added before a meter would expire and make the car eligible for a parking ticket. This would mean a one-time software purchase of $500 from POM, Inc, the company that supplies the meter heads.
Any changes to the policy will go into effect next year.
