The State of Pennsylvania is once again under a Code Orange air quality action alert. Smoke from Canadian wildfires are expected to impact air quality in the state throughout the day, and some areas could have enough air particulate matter to put it in the lower end of the Code Red status.
Under Code Orange conditions, the young, the elderly and those with heart and lung diseases will be adversely affected by this and are advised to avoid extended exposure through strenuous outdoor activity. People are also asked to voluntarily help reduce fine particulate matter by avoiding the open burning of leaves, trash or other materials; and avoid using gas powered lawn and garden equipment.
