Two people from Westmoreland County were indicted as part of a group of seven people on federal charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, possession of child sexual abuse material and other crimes in connection with a scheme that involved the hacking of some social media accounts.
According to a news release from US District Attorney Eric Olshan, Edward Grabb of Jeannette and Michael Yackovich of West Newton were two of six people from Pennsylvania and one from North Carolina indicted by a federal grand jury. The indictment states that the seven people hacked into Snapchat accounts, removing sexually explicit images and videos and sharing that material among themselves.
The two face 20 years or more in prison along with hefty fines each.
