A North Huntingdon police officer will receive about $276,000 in a settlement over a racial discrimination lawsuit filed against the township and a former manager.
The Trib reports that Albert P. Carson II filed the suit in US District Court in Pittsburgh last November.
Carson, who is black, alleged that he endured a hostile work environment and was the target of racial jokes and comments from fellow officers and claimed he was not promoted by township commissioners to chief in 2018. The settlement is contingent on Carson retiring in January and not filing any further claims against the municipality.
