Police in New Kensington arrested an Arnold man on Sunday after he allegedly hit a parked vehicle and led police on a chase.
The Trib reports that 25-year-old Raymond Slater was charged with DUI, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer and other crimes for the incident on July 23rd. Police say that the hit-and-run was reported around 2:00 Sunday morning in the 400 block of Catalpa Street. Police found the offending vehicle but the driver would not stop. Police chose not to pursue as he was driving erratically. An officer relocated the vehicle and, after a brief pursuit, he stopped it at Ridge Avenue and North Street at gunpoint with a Lower Burrell officer, according to court documents.
Slater is free on $5000 unsecured bond, with a preliminary hearing set for August 3rd.
