Police are saying that an 8-year-old girl fell out of a car during a chase in Arnold on Saturday, and the person who led police on that chase now faces charges.
WTAE-TV reports that 30-year-old Amanda Shaw was first contacted by officers responding to a domestic incident on Leishman Avenue. Shaw was allegedly trying to get someone to use the vehicle’s anti-drunk-driving interlock system in her car, then drove away after she saw police arrive. As she made a sharp turn onto Dunn Alley, an eight-year-old girl fell out of the passenger side window. Police stopped to care for the child before stopping the suspect at gunpoint as she was allegedly attempting to run from police.
Shaw was allegedly found near her home on Woodmont Avenue. She is currently on probation in Westmoreland and Indiana counties, and now faces multiple charges in this case, including child endangerment and aggravated assault.
