A man from Mercer is charged with strangulation and simple assault after an incident last Wednesday in New Kensington.
The Trib reports that 57-year-old Terrence Martin, Jr. allegedly choked and hit a tenant after she told him she had purchased a house and was moving out of a property in the 800 block of Anderson Street. After he learned the news, Martin allegedly threatened to evict her as soon as tomorrow, and got in the victim’s face. After she “pushed gently back”, Martin allegedly grabbed her by the throat, threw her into a lounge chair, strangled her and hit her.
Martin is free on $10,000 bond and is due in court for a preliminary hearing on September 7th.
