A Vandegrift man is accused of breaking into his girlfriend’s home on Monday.
The Trib reports that 24-year-old Adam Younkins was charged with burglary, trespass, theft and resisting arrest in the incident. Police say that he broke into the home on Jackson Avenue around 5 AM on Monday. When police arrived, he was seen walking from a hallway to the kitchen. The woman had barricaded herself in the attic and called 911.
Younkins told police that he lives in the house but does not get mail delivered there and was inside to get some of his belongings. Police held him at gunpoint and he initially resisted arrest but later complied with police.
Younkins is in Westmoreland County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bond, and a preliminary hearing is set for September 5th.
