A New Kensington man was ordered to stand trial on charges of strangulation and assault.
The Trib reports that 52-year-old Morris Hayes waived his preliminary hearing back in late August. A woman told officers who responded to a call for a domestic dispute about midnight May 25 that Hayes choked her and tried to throw her out of the house, according to a criminal complaint. He showed officers a video of the incident, which showed him strangling the woman.
Hayes is free on $25,000 bond. No word yet on when his trial will take place.
