North Huntingdon Township Commissioners are expected to vote today to approve an out-of-court settlement for two officers who filed a lawsuit with the township over wages.
The Tribune-Review reports that the suit was filed by officers Justin Wardman and Mark Hamilton back in 2017. The two claimed that they were under-paid while on active duty with the PA National Guard. Under the terms of the settlement, Wardman would get $42,000, while Hamilton would receive $17,500. Another $25,800 would go to their attorney, Susan Mahood.
The township claimed that they did not break PA Military Code when they were paid the difference between their military salaries and their regular salaries, but they feel that they’re entitled to the full salary from the company and the military pay on top of that.
