Westmoreland County Judges have selected Matthew Thomas as the new member of the Norwin School Board.
The Trib reports that the 49-year-old North Huntingdon man was named to the board on Monday as a replacement for Joanna Jordan, who passed away in August. The judges stepped in to make a decision on who would fill her seat as the board could not agree on a replacement.
Thomas is a student services director for the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit and is a former principal in the Ferndale School District near Johnstown. He is also on the ballot for the school board in November.
