A Monessen man was ordered to serve over five years in federal prison on drug charges.
The Trib reports that 41-year-old Daniel Smith was charged in connection with a cocaine distribution ring between July 2020 and July of 2021 that involved residents of Brownsville as well as Chicago.
U.S. Attorney Eric Olshan said Smith obtained more than 3 kilograms of cocaine from a Chicago-based supplier, redistributing it among drug crews in the greater Pittsburgh area. Along with a 63-month sentence, he will serve four years of probation.
