Unofficial results from the Westmoreland County Elections Bureau show that two write-in nominees won seats on the Greater Latrobe School Board.
The Trib reports that candidate John Petrarca was third with his write-in campaign and Tom Gockel finished fifth. They are among a slate of four new people to serve on the board, while the fifth electee, Merle Musick, was the only incumbent winner. Write-in votes accounted for more than 24% of the 28,396 votes cast in the Latrobe race.
The election board will issue a precertification of the vote at its meeting on Nov. 20. Voters can then challenge the results in court before a final certification is issued on Nov. 27.
