Three Rite Aid locations in Westmoreland County are on the latest list of the company’s closures.
WTAE-TV reports that the Stevenson Boulevard location in New Kensington, Murrysville’s location on William Penn Highway and the Route 30 location in Hempfield Township are on a list of additional stores that was submitted in a court filing. In October, the drugstore chain said it planned to close 7 percent of its stores as it made its way through its Chapter 11 bankruptcy process.
The company said at the time that going through its voluntary Chapter 11 process would help significantly cut the company’s debt and resolve litigation “in an equitable manner.”
