A Greensburg-Salem elementary teacher and her aide are charged with mistreatment of special needs students between September 1st and October 26th.
The Trib reports that 34-year-old Brooke Stanko of Derry Township and Teri Kepchia are each charged with criminal conspiracy to endanger the welfare of children, false imprisonment, simple assault and other crimes for the incidents at Robert F. Nicely Elementary School. The two allegedly mistreated three children, ranging in age from 6 to 8 years, by spraying lemon juice and soap into the mouth of one of the students, and restraining that child and two others with soundproofing mats.
In a letter from the district superintendent, the two adults were removed from the classroom after the administration heard of the incident. The two have not had arraignment hearings yet.
