Officials with Burrell School District are working with Carnegie Mellon University to set up a writing center at their high school.
The program will allow high schoolers to get tutoring from CMU students. Planners say a similar effort has already proved to be popular at Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood.
Burrell literature teacher Darcy Holtzman says she would like to have the new writing center available to students during the next semester.
