While a New Stanton man was acquitted of rape in connection with an incident at a Halloween Party in 2020, he was convicted of lesser charges.
The Trib reports that 28-year-old Anthony Lucas was convicted of sexual assault and indecent assault, while charges of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and another count of indecent assault. His accuser claimed Lucas forced himself on her in the bathroom as her young daughter slept in a nearby room during the holiday party attended by more than a half-dozen guests.
Lucas faces a potential three-year prison term and will be sentenced in about three months.
