A State Appeals Court has upheld the sentence of 60 years to life for a Greensburg woman in the 2010 torture-killing of Jennifer Daugherty (Dock-er-tee).
The Trib reports that a three judge panel rejected a defense request to invalidate the sentence imposed against Angela Marrinucci in 2022. Marinucci, who was 17 when she was arrested, joined five others in holding the mentally disabled Daguherty for two days before she was stabbed to death and left in a trash can under a truck in a snow covered parking lot.
Westmoreland County Common Pleas Judge Rita Hathaway sentenced Marinucci for a third time in 2022 after appeals made to higher courts and ordered her to serve 40 years to life for Daugherty’s murder and consecutive 20- to 40-year sentences for conspiracy, but Marinucci’s lawyers said the sentence had violated state laws.
