A group of union workers at a bankrupt Latrobe plastics company have been picketing outside the company, claiming that the business failed to call them back to their jobs.
The Trib reports that Westmoreland Plastics laid off 14 union employees in December when the business filed for bankruptcy. IBEW-Communications Workers of America Local 8867 president Bob Wagner said that when five of those workers were recalled, it was done without regard to the seniority clause in the union contract.
He also claimed that the worker’s health insurance was canceled without notice and deducted money from the workers’ 401K retirement plans.
