The Westmoreland County Industrial Development Corporation will inspect a storm water control system at the county’s airpark in Unity Township.
The Tribune-Review reports that the review comes after several residents complained about runoff from the business development adding to flooding problems. Residents are saying that two water retention ponds at the Airpark on Route 981 are not doing an adequate job in reducing storm water runoff.
Representatives of the IDC said that the ponds were built to Westmoreland Conservation District and state DEP specifications, and last year, the IDC was directed to remove built up sediment in one of the ponds.
