3 CHARGED IN WESTMORELAND COUNTY DEER POACHING INVESTIGATION

The Pennsylvania Game Commission on Wednesday announced the results of an investigation into deer poaching in Westmoreland County.  Three individuals were found to be involved in the illegal killing of 26 deer between October and November of 2022.  Michael Matson Jr, Chase Piper and Angelica Morgan all pleaded guilty recently to charges in the case.  Two were sentenced to six months of probation and ordered to pay 16-hundred dollars in fines.  The third was sentenced to 1 to 2 years in prison on a weapons charge.
