An Export man is charged with threatening relatives in an incident on Sunday. The Trib reports that numerous charges were filed against 63-year-old Robert Deering. State police said that he was arguing with his daughter and son-in-law after arguing at his grandson for waking him up on Sunday. He then grabbed a rifle and said he was going shooting. After his daughter and son-in-law took the rifle from him, Deering allegedly pulled out a revolver and threatened to shoot them if he didn’t get the rifle back. After they disarmed him again, police said Deering retrieved a machete from his room and chased them around the house, threatening to hurt them if he didn’t get his guns back. Deering threw the machete at the woman then grabbed his son-in-law’s revolver, loaded it and threatened to shoot him if he didn’t get his guns and machete back. He is in Westmoreland County prison on $50,000 bail and due for a preliminary hearing on February 20th.
